At least 102 Boko Haram terrorists died in an ambush attack by the military between Damboa and Maiduguri in Borno state today.
According to sources from Borno state, the terrorists were on their way to attack engineers working to restore power to some area in Borno state when the Nigerian soldiers opened fire on them.
When contacted, Defence Spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade confirmed the incidents.
The troops recover Hilux vehicle earlier stolen by Boko Haram from the Borno Ministry of Education building which they have repainted and mounted with an anti-aircraft gun.
The troops also recovered several rocket propelled grenades and rifles from them.
2 severely wounded soldiers died in the encounter.
