June 4th, 2013 – Babcock University Student Loses 8 Family Members In Motor Accident On Graduation Day
Margaret Okwuikpo, one of the graduating students from the School of Nursing Science at Babcock University on Sunday lost 8 of her family members on her graduation day.
This sad news was brought to the attention of other students at the convocation ceremony on Sunday June 2nd, 2013 by the Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Professor Kayode Makinde.
It was reported that Margaret’s father, grandmother, sisters, brothers and cousins all died in a fatal road accident that occured in Port-Harcourt on their way to Babcock.
We learnt the family hired a 14-seater passenger bus from Port-Harcourt. 15 minutes after the bus left the car park, the car somersaulted severally due to overspeeking.
The 2 survivors of the accident, Margaret’s mother and brother-in-law are currently clinging to life at a private hospital.
