The second case of miraculous cure of a baby born with HIV has been documented by scientists in the US.
A baby girl who was recently born HIV positive has been functionally cured and has taken off medication for close to 24 months now with no sign of the killer Human immunodeficiency virus.
This good news was shared on Sunday March 3rd, 2013 at the a conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to ABC News, the baby way was given birth to by an HIV positive mother who didn’t go for regular prenatal care or HIV treatment.
The baby was immediately transferred to University of Mississippi medical center where she was place on atriretroviral treatment for 30 hours.
Doctors prescribed AZT, ETC, Nevirapine (3 aggressive HIV treatment drugs) immediately after her birth.
The first documented case of HIV cure is that of a Berlin patient called Timothy Brown.
