April 13, 2016 – Dele Odule Urges Nollywood Actors And Actresses To Revive Stage Play, Town Hall Shows

Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule today called on his colleagues to join him in bringing back the town hall shows and stage play the entertainment industry was known for in the early 80s.

In this exclusive chat with NAN in Lagos this afternoon, the actor urged 3 tiers of government and Nollywood practitioners to support the revival of town hall and stage shows to improve the sector.

In his words:

“It was a popular thing in the past when movies are usually first played on stage before going on air, but reverse is the case now.
“It will be a good thing if Nolywood actors and actresses go back to the olden days of stage play before going on air,”
“Establishment of film centres will help to develop and boost the image of Nigeria entertainment industry. “Most of the developing countries that produce quality movies have several film centres where they train their artists.“The industry will grow if the government can assist in establishing film centres in the country,”.

He said if the government can establish local film centres all across the country, Nollywood movies will have better quality.
