Coach of Dodan Warriors Basketball Club of Lagos, Adeeka Daudu, says his team are battle ready to face the challenges of the DSTV Super 8 playoff.

Warriors and seven other teams from the Savannah and Atlantic Conferences will converge on Lagos from 21-28 July for the final phase of the 2011/2012 Nigeria basketball league season.

Speaking with reporters at the weekend, Daudu said: “Right now we are in the final stage of our preparation for the Super 8 playoff, which starts in less than three weeks.

“With what I have seen of our team, I can say confidently that we are battle ready for the challenges ahead us.”

Reflecting on Warriors’ aim to win their first domestic title, the former national team player said: “We are aware of the fact that the challenges would be tough now that we are in the playoff, but we will work hard for the task ahead, and nothing would deter us from winning the trophy this season, Insha Allah.”

The Col Sam Ahmedu (red.), owned Warriors were undefeated throughout the regular season, where they played 14 matches. They shared this unbeaten record with Savannah Conference’s Kano Pillars of Kano.
