Former Ondo Lawmaker’s Mom Kidnapped.

THE mother of a former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly and now Chairman of the States Sports Council, Mr. Bamido Omogbehin has been kidnapped.

Mrs Cecilia, 75, was said to have been picked up, Monday, by seven gunmen around 7.30 pm in Okitipupa local government area of the state.

Vanguard gathered that the suspected kidnappers trailed her from her shop in Okitipupa and allowed her to enter into her compound before pouncing on her.

After they reportedly picked her, the kidnappers raided her neighbours, collecting their mobile phones,  before whisking her away to an  unknown destination.

The kidnappers, who according to eyewitness account,  were armed later abandoned Madam Cecilia’s vehicle at Igbokoda before she was taken away in a speed boat.

Speaking with newsmen in Akure Mr.  Bamido Omogbehin who confirmed the incident said the family was yet to be contacted and they are worried about her safety.

Omogbehin said “It is unfortunate that my mother has been kidnapped. The woman was returning from her shop when they , kidnappers followed her.

‘Up till now, the kidnappers have not contacted the family; I don’t know what my mother has done to warrant such kind of treatment.”

Contacted the  Ondo State Police Command spokesman,  Adeniran Aremu said the Command is making frantic efforts to arrest the perpetrators of the act.(Vanguard)
