June 20, 2013 – Killer Of Nigerian Cab Driver In New York Arrested
On Tuesday, New York Police Officials arrested a suspect in the brutal killing of a Nigerian cab driver in Brownsville area of Brooklyn in downtown New York.
Ebonyi-born Uro Ama Orji was repeatedly stabbed in the eye with an Umbrella in the morning of June 13, 2013 during an argument with 2 of his passengers.
The attack led him to crash his taxi between two parked cars.
According to security sources, the suspect was caught live on camera running away from the accident scene.
The deceased was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect has been identified as Shamel Allen, a 28-year-old man based in Brooklyn, New York.
He was charged with manslaughter and possession of weapon.
Meanwhile, Mrs Chinedum Agwu, the deceased sister-in-law described him as a dedicated and a hardworking family man who relocated to New York 10 years ago.
