Lagos Police ASP Arrested For Beating Suspect To Death At His House In Aboru

A Lagos-based Assistant Superintendent of Police, Salawu Kazeem has been arrested for the murder of a young carpenter identified as Ganiyu Akinyemi.
Kazeem reportedly arrested Ganiyu hours after he was accused of stealing some T-shirts at his home while carrying out a carpentry work.
But instead of taking him to the station, he took the laws into his hands and dragged the suspect to his home where he was allegedly beaten to death.
The 21-year-old carpenter who sustained injuries on the knees, hands and forehead died around 3am on Tuesday at the Oke Odo General Hospital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed the ASP’s arrest, adding that the case would be transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for further investigation.
