March 16, 2012 – Nigerian Actresses are not whores – Tokunbo Fayomi

Nollywood actress, Tokunbo Fayomi, laments that actresses are often seen as prostitutes and not as professionals in Nigeria.

She says that in the course of interpreting their roles, actresses end up being mistaken as representing reality.

She notes that in a world where women seem to be perpetually fighting for equality with the men folk, they are not treated as well as their male counterparts in the industry.

She wonders why actors are never seen as prostitutes, but showered with praises instead.

The light-complexioned actress, who has appeared in movies, such as Uncle Adisa, Gbolahan, Oni’koand produced, Gbonjubolain 2009, is currently putting finishing touches to her new film titled, Simisola Akanfe.
