July 9, 2012 – Olympic Games: Team Nigeria’ll Perform —Ogba

As the London 2012 Olympics draw closer, president of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, Solomon Ogba, has assured sports-loving Nigerians that Team Nigeria will do the country proud at the Games.

The AFN boss said that the athletes who will fly Nigeria’s flag at the competition are the best in the country, adding that these athletes have garnered enough experience to compete with their counterparts from other countries.

Ogba also assured Nigerians that the federation is confident that none of the athletes will face an early exit at the Games, saying that they will all reach the knockout stage.

“The aim of the federation is to present good athletes in London, who will make the sports-loving Nigerians proud during the Games. And I am happy that we already have a team that will not let the country down at the Games,” said Ogba.

He said: “I am confident that our athletes will rise to the occasion in London because they know that our country’s pride is at stake.

“Nigeria’s representatives at the games are good enough to give a good account of themselves and I am sure they will advance to the knockout stages.” Ogba said.
