The Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Mr Amodu Gombe has been assassinated in Nafada Local Government area of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria.

According to JTF, unknown gunmen shot Amodu at around 12:20pm on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Unguwan Yashi.

“He was killed by suspected assassins and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the killers,” Musa said. Some residents earlier told newsmen that a group of teenagers on Friday afternoon shot Gombe who was on a visit to a relative in the Unguwan Yashi area of Maiduguri.
