November 17, 2016 – Thursday Inspiration: How To Unleash & Boost Your Creative Mind
Tapping Into Your Creative Mind Part 1: How To Put Your Inner Creative Power To Work
Creativity is the ability to put your imaginative thinking to productive use e.g when you imagine how an object can fly, then you think of creative ways to put the pieces together until it start flying…
Creativity can also be defined as the ability to create something out of nothing e.g a creative mind can easily turn a large white paper into a stylish outfit.
Having said that, there are certain steps to take in order to put your creative mind to work.
Follow me as I show you ways to put your creative mind to work
(1) Acknowledge That You Are Wired With Creativity.
This step is very crucial to achieving anything in life. Over the years, I have come to realise that most readers and commentators on this blog are creative people who are powerful inventors the world is yet to know.
Please permit me as I share with you my personal experience of how we can put your creative imagination to work.
(2) Change The Way You See Things
This step involves changing your “I don’t know” thinking to “what If I do it this way”
A creative mind is the one that is capable of raising questions and finding answers to them.
Also a creative mind think of new possibilities and sees old problem from a different perspective.
In conclusion, to be creative, you must be able to find better ways of answering a question or solving a problem.
(3) Set Time Apart To Inspire Yourself To Think Outside The Box
At this stage, it is time to embark on a journey of inspiration. You need to set apart some time to load yourself with inspiration. It involves taking a couple of hours from mundane things. This widens your perspective and inspire your creativity.
This step involves listening to a different music unlike the ones you love to listen to, taking a different route to work, waking up at a different time of the day, thinking of what you can do to make this world a better place.
(4) Take A Break From Your Environment (Step Out Of The Crowd)
This is the most vital step of all, I don’t joke with this at all.
This is a time to give yourself a day or two to read stories and biographies of famous creative thinkers like Benjamin Franklin, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, The Wright Brothers and many others.
Steve Jobs, an iconic American businessman, the founder of Apple is one of the greatest innovators of our time. Though he has passed on, his work is still speaking. He played an important role in developing the iPhone, iPod, McIntosh and other key products.
Bill Gates: One of the great businessman/philanthropists of the last century, Gates founded and built Microsoft into an unmatched software behemoth before leaving to start the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, a multi-billion dollar philanthropic enterprise working to enhance global healthcare and reduce poverty.
The Wright brothers. Orville & Wilbur Wright invented and flew the world’s first successful airplane in 1903. Their persistence, experimentation, and work on the principles of flight made them legendary inventors and innovators.
(5) Put Your Creative Mind To Work
All the great inventors above made history because they put their creative mind to work.
These are people who spent years in researching, imagining and testing things before putting their creative imagination to work. Though most of them failed along the way, they all tapped into another realm of creativity by examining why their inventions failed and finding ways to make it happen.
A creative mind is the mind that makes thing works.
You don’t have to be a scientist to be creative. Your creativity starts where you are.
For example, as a teacher, you can unleash your creativity by writing books on how to pass a particular exams.
As a tailor, you can unleash your creativity by designing a dress or a product that has never been done before.
As a farmer, you can unleash your creativity by doing what other farmers have never done before.
As a student, you can tap into your creative nature by scoring grades that has never been scored before, the list goes on and on and on.
In conclusion, I want to encourage you to step out of the crowd and look within yourself.
Watch out for things that make you thick and set time apart to imagine what you can do to make this world a better place.
If you can get into this state of mind, you will begin to boost your creativity and with time, you will become an achiever the world is yet to know.
Creativity is a powerful force that can never be limited. The only thing that can limit your creativity is you.
Keep in mind that you are a powerful being, you are uniquely talented and wired by God to carry out a special assignment and your journey to success begins the day you start tapping into your creative mind.
