8 Arrested For Stealing N400 Million Land Documents At Tin Can Island Apapa Lagos
December 1st, 2016 – N400 Million Land Documents Stolen At Tin Can Island Apapa Lagos, 8 Arrested
8 men who allegedly stole the documents of a landed property at Tin can Island few years ago were today docked before an Igbosere Magistrates Court in Lagos.
The accused 74-year-old Alao Amisu, 65-year-old Dosunmu Afolabi, 50-year-old Adebayo Adams, 50 year old Shanu Saliu, 52-year-old Olukola Oseni, 49-year-old Samusideen Agbabiaka, 58-year-old Rasaq Akintunde, 70-year-old Segun Egbayelo are currently on trial on 4-count charge on breach of peace,threat to life, stealing and conspiracy.
They allegedly stole the document at #3 Expressway Sand Depot in Apapa sometimes in 2013.
The eight men pleaded not guilty before Justice Abimbola Komolafe today and were admitted to N500,000 bail each with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned till the 24th of January for hearing.

Why would anybody steal land document? If the land is up for sale or lease and the like lawyers normally conduct search at the lands registry and the true registered owner will be known . So what will the stolen documents be used for? 419 ?

So unfortunate that corruption has eating so deep into our Nigerian system. This matter is uncalled-for. The police, never made any investigations all the did was to collect money from the complaints and charge innocent people to court for nothing. In advance society this very matter would never get to court without proper investigation by the police. I want to say that all the allegations here are all lies from the pit of hell and can never stand the test of time. Let us wait and see. The complainant here should be ready to prove this case beyond reasonable doubt. Failure to do he should be ready for a civil law suit.
