Are We in the Beginning of Sorrows? Here’s What Jesus Said!

Everywhere you turn, the signs are hard to ignore. Wars are breaking out. Nations are rising against each other. Families are being torn apart by inflation, hunger, and fear. Earthquakes are shaking the ground in places people thought were safe. It seems like something is shifting—something deeper than politics, deeper than weather patterns, deeper than money. People are starting to ask the big question: Is this the end? That question isn’t just coming from pulpits anymore. It’s being whispered in schools, shouted in protests, and written across social media. The world is aching, and deep down, everyone knows something is not right.

But here’s what many don’t realize—none of this is catching God off guard. Everything we’re seeing was already spoken of in the Bible. The chaos isn’t new to heaven. It’s been written. The confusion we see in the world is not random. It’s not coincidence. It’s a warning, and it’s one that Jesus clearly gave to us, not to scare us, but to prepare us.

Let’s go straight to the words of Christ. In Matthew 24:6-8 (KJV), Jesus said, “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars… For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” That phrase—“beginning of sorrows”—is powerful. It means we’re not at the end yet, but we’re close. These are the warning signs before the storm hits. The earth is groaning, and it’s crying out for something that only Jesus can bring—justice, peace, and truth.

But we’ve moved so far from truth that many can’t even recognize it anymore. Good is being called evil, and evil is being celebrated as progress. Sin is no longer hidden; it’s displayed with pride. Children are being confused by lies wrapped in glitter and glamor. And many churches are silent, too afraid to offend. But God has not changed. His Word still stands. His warnings are still real. And His judgment is still coming.

We’re watching prophecy unfold in real-time. What Jesus spoke is now on your news feed. You don’t need to be a scholar to see it. You just need to be awake. Right now, the world is asleep at the wheel, racing toward destruction. People are focused on their jobs, their image, their followers, their comfort—but their souls are starving. Their lamps are empty. And many won’t realize it until it’s too late.

But the shaking we see today isn’t just destruction—it’s mercy. God is shaking the earth to wake up His people. He’s sounding the alarm. He’s giving time to repent. Because there will come a day when the warnings stop, when the door of mercy closes, and what remains is judgment. Just like in Noah’s day, people were eating, drinking, marrying, and living life like nothing was wrong—until the rain started falling. Then, it was too late. The ark was sealed. And the ones who ignored the warnings were left outside.

Luke 21:25-26 (KJV) says, “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars… the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” We’re already seeing that. Fear is everywhere. People are anxious, restless, depressed, and confused. But that fear doesn’t come from God. He gives peace in the middle of chaos. That peace is only found in knowing Jesus Christ and walking in His truth.

So the real question isn’t just “Is this the end?” The deeper question is this: Are you ready? Are you prepared to meet Jesus? Because whether He returns tomorrow or ten years from now, your soul could be called home at any moment. Life is fragile. Time is short. And eternity is not a game.

You don’t get into heaven by being “good.” You don’t enter by following religion or going to church when it’s convenient. The Bible is clear in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” That means you must turn away from sin, believe in Jesus Christ, and live a life of obedience. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being surrendered. God isn’t looking for performance—He’s looking for repentance.

Now more than ever, we need to get back to the basics. Read the Word. Pray daily. Fast when you can. Guard your heart. This isn’t the time to play church. This isn’t the time to sit on the fence. The enemy is not hiding anymore—he’s bold. He’s after our kids, our homes, our minds. But greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.

Don’t be distracted. While the world is focused on celebrities and trends, God is calling His people to be set apart. He’s calling for a remnant—a people who are not ashamed to stand for truth, even when it costs them something. People who will speak up when others stay silent. People who will walk in holiness when compromise is everywhere.

You might lose friends. You might lose followers. You might be mocked. But remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:11, “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you… for my sake.” Don’t seek the approval of the world. Seek the approval of God. Because at the end of the day, the only opinion that will matter is His.

There’s something else we need to remember. As dark as these times are, God has not abandoned us. He is still in control. He is still speaking. He is still saving souls. Revival is not dead—it’s just quiet. It’s happening in secret places, in small rooms, in quiet prayers. God is raising up people behind the scenes—people who don’t care about titles, who don’t care about platforms, who just want to see Jesus lifted high.

You can be one of them. You don’t need to be famous. You don’t need to be rich. You just need to be willing. Willing to pray. Willing to fast. Willing to say “no” to sin. Willing to obey when it’s hard. God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things when they give Him their whole heart.

Now is the time to prepare spiritually and practically. Yes, stock up on food and water if you can. Yes, pay off debt and use wisdom. But don’t put more energy into survival than you do into your soul. Because no amount of supplies will save you if your heart is not right with God.

We don’t know the exact day or hour of Christ’s return. But we do know the season. And we are in that season. The fig tree is blooming. The signs are everywhere. So don’t wait. Don’t delay. If you feel God tugging at your heart, respond now. Repent of sin. Forgive those who hurt you. Clean your house—spiritually and naturally. Let go of distractions. Return to your first love. Get back to the place where God’s voice mattered more than anything else.

And once you’re ready—help others get ready. This is not the time to be silent. Share the truth in love. Speak the Word. Shine your light. People are searching for answers, and you carry the hope they need. Don’t bury it. Don’t hide it. Let your life preach louder than your lips.

Because yes, the world is shaking. And yes, this could be the beginning of the end. But for those who are in Christ, it’s not a time to fear. It’s a time to stand. It’s a time to rise. It’s a time to lift up our eyes, for our redemption draweth nigh (Luke 21:28). Jesus is coming soon. And we must be found faithful.

So when people ask, “Is this the end?”, tell them this: It may be the end of the world as we know it, but for the children of God, it’s the beginning of something far greater. The beginning of eternity with our King. And that, my friend, is a promise worth standing for.
