Sept 9, 2014 –Boko Haram Attack In Mubi Adamawa State: Obasanjo Not Worried About Injured Son, He’s Sad About Soldiers Killed – Aides Speaks From Singapore

According to a reliable source, former President who is currently in Singapore has spoken to his injured son who is now in a stable condition at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja after an ambush attack by Boko Haram militants in Mubi Adamawa State.

An aide to Obasanjo who pleaded anonymity revealed that the former President has been informed about the incident and has spoken with his son.

“He got the information as other Nigerians received it and what we gathered was that a top official from the Defence Headquarters called him to inform him yesterday morning and you know he is in Singapore right now and I don’t know how he feels because I am not there with him.

“But from some of our colleagues over there who spoke with us here, they said he did not feel too bad about Adeboye’s fate but was more concerned about those that died from the bullets of the Boko Haram militants. An unconfirmed information at my disposal is that he has spoken with Adeboye himself but I can’t say if that is true or not. But before the end of the day maybe an official statement will be out,” the aide said.

Why should obasanjo be sad over son’s injury.he was a military hence it is not always rosy for the military. All other military men who lost their lives are somebody’s children. Does it matter whose horse is hurt? Its going to be obvious now the activities of these bandits!

It’s now clear to those preaching divisions in the Nigerian statehood to re-assess their thoughts once again that sacrifies and casualties in the face of Boko Haram challenges in Nigeria cuts across tribal line. It tells us we better stop singing discordant tunes and find rythim that unites us as a nation. Nigeria is a great country no doubt but we run ourselves down as if other nations don’t have problems of their own. Nigeria will overcome Boko Haram with time I believe. There is no reason we declare full scale war against ourselves and that’s what makes Boko Haram problems seem insurmountable.

I salute the courage of Col. Adeboye Obasanjo and especially his father’s position not to influence it that he should not be posted to such front.

Indeed Baba Obasanjo is also a hero. How many past or serving Nigerian leaders would allow any of their loved ones to face Boko Haram?
