The past days have been filled with controversies and heart breaking events that break our hearts and leave us in awe.
To start with, it seems people can do anything to trend on the internet these days. The social media is a place where people from all walks of life gather to exhibit their stupidity or intelligence to the general public.
From politicians, entertainers, businessmen and women and philanthropists, the social media have been a place where everything goes. I have heard of homosexual practices in Nollywood, but the recent trend of a Nollywood actor being accused of gay practice is what is giving me loads of concern.
Just some few days ago, an Instagram babe with the handle Bold_pink accused popular Nollywood actor, Ik Ogbonna, of being gay and asked him to come out from the closet and tell the world what he and his other colleagues have been doing to get money and living the flamboyant lifestyle.
Bold Pink who uploaded a video calling the actor out was specific and ranting. The publicity stunt which didn’t go down well with the actor prompted him to call for a legal action against her.
The loud-mouthed vixen has been given seven days to retract the statement or provide evidence of him being gay.
She would be charged to court on the account of character defamation if the above were not met.
We hope she hasn’t bitten more than she can chew and this little publicity stunt won’t get her into a lot of trouble.
In conclusion, I will like to ask this question, why are homosexuals in Nollywood afraid of coming out of their hiding place.?
People are getting into this homosexuality thing because they just want to stereotyping the idea of Western Culture. Some are trying to see the curiosity behind being a Gay. Some are being coerced or pressure to involve in the act by using present economy hardship of our Country which has turned most of young ones to pauper. Some young folks will submit themselves into this act just to survive. Whatever the reason may be, I don’t think it’s right for anyone to become a gay even by looking at it from moral point of it .
Now back to the question of whether some Nollywood Actors are involving in homosexuality, I believe it may be true but it depends on individual morality. Let’s take for example if a Gay producer offers an actor #5 million to cast in his movie and attach a condition that if only that Actor can sleep with him. If that actor is morally upright, he will turn it down but if he is not a man of principle, he will jump in to that offer and trade in his moral for few millions of Naira. While some of them may think that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality in as much nobody sees them, that act alone can bring them down to their knees. It can make their life miserable because it is against God principles. Its disadvantages which can bring diseases, untimely death, shame, humiliation and discomfort outweigh its advantages which is only in monetary compensation.
