However, as I reveal the exciting chapters of my life since my return to Nigeria, it’s crucial to also share a heart-wrenching episode that has profoundly affected me and my family.
The Irreparable Loss
As some of you may know, I made the difficult decision to return to Nigeria from Canada last week. Unfortunately, this joyous homecoming is overshadowed by an agonizing loss. On July 6th, 2023, my first-born child passed away due to a severe medical complication—soft tissue cancer—induced, as we believe, by a COVID-19 vaccination he received in Canada.
A Cautionary Tale
My son was thriving in Nigeria before we relocated him back to Canada for the covid-19 vaccination. Merely three days after receiving the complete dose, he was diagnosed with stage 4 soft tissue cancer. After a 13-month battle, the disease eventually spread to his lungs, and he was put to rest, in a medically assisted manner, at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Ontario Canada. The experience has been devastating, especially considering that there was no history of this particular illness in our family lineage.
The Emotional Toll
While I am a firm advocate of the Japada movement, encouraging Nigerians abroad to consider returning home, I must admit that this tragic event has cast a pall over my enthusiasm. Each time I encounter someone contemplating relocating their family to North America, I suffer from debilitating panic attacks. The thought that reverberates in my mind is: “Had we stayed in Nigeria, my beloved son would still be with us.”
A Word of Caution
Although this is a deeply personal and painful subject, I feel compelled to share it with you all. A close family member of mine has also developed a life-threatening condition believed to be related to the COVID-19 vaccination. During my son’s treatment, we witnessed about 18 other teenagers who battled soft tissue cancer. They all have the same history, they all took the complete COVID-19 vaccine before they developed the complication.
Please exercise extreme caution and consult extensively with healthcare professionals before making any health-related decisions for you and your family.
Final Words!
The Japada journey, returning home to the soil where we truly belong, is one that I believe can offer enriching experiences and a vibrant quality of life. Yet, it’s essential to tread carefully, especially when making critical health decisions that could have irreversible consequences.
May no parent ever have to go through the unbearable pain of losing a child, particularly when the tragedy could have been avoided.
Stay safe, and God bless.
