28 Lassa Fever Patients On Death Bed At FMC Owo As Deadly Virus Kills 15 In Ondo State
Deadly Lassa fever outbreak has reportedly took the lives of 15 people in Ondo state.
As at the time of this report, not less than 28 people are struggling to stay alive.
According to investigation, most of the victims are residents of Ose, Owo and Oka Akoko area of Ondo state.
A source said;
“Over 100 people affected have been receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, while 15 have died and 28 are on the danger list.”
According to the source, a ward in the hospital reserved for Lassa fever patients is overcrowded, forcing the doctors to refer some patients to the Virology Centre in Akure.
One of the health workers at FMC lost his wife to the deadly disease last week.
