December 21, 2016 – Malabu Oil Scandal: EFCC Charges 2 Ex Ministers & 7 Oil Billionaires With $1.6Billion Fraud

The EFCC on Tuesday filed 9 charges bordering on alleged mismanagement of $1,616,690,656.78 Malabu Oil cash against two ex-ministers.

The charged are Chief Dan Etete, former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation and seven others.

The others are a businessman, Aliyu Abubakar, Malabu Oil and Gas Limited; Rocky Top Resources Limited; Imperial Union Limited; Novel Properties and Development Company Limited, Group Construction Limited and Megatech Engineering Limited.

The nine-count charge was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja by a team of lawyers, including Johnson Ojogbane, C.C. Nduese, H.M. Mohammed, and Victor Ukagwu.

No date has been filed for the arraignment of the suspects, some of whom are outside the country.

    Oh my God , this our leaders has milk this country dried. Assume that nigeria leaders are leading us by example through good governance , we could have been competing with other nations like dubai , singapore and so on … no thanks to british and usa who uses our leaders to get what they want with our economy and enrich their own country .

    Nothing will come out of this case. The rich and powerful get away with corruption all the time. Since the way against corruption began not even one person has been prosecuted and jailed. I’m really getting fed up with it all.
