An 18-year-old man identified as Taofeek Adeagbo has been paraded by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly killing his father. His mother, Rashidat, was also arrested for concealing the crime. The suspects were paraded alongside 23 others in Ibadan on Friday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso.

Osifeso revealed that the incident occurred in Tede, Atisbo Local Government Area of of Okeogun Oyo State.

According to Osifeso, Taofeek reported the incident himself, saying that his nephew, Ismail Adeagbo, came to him to report that he found his father, Jimoh Adeagbo, lying dead with a serious mark of violence on his forehead. He revealed that preliminary investigation showed that the suspect had hit his father in the head with an iron rod while he was sleeping, leading to his death. The suspect confessed to the crime.

Taofeek also revealed that his mother, Rashidat Adeagbo, was aware that he killed his father and concealed the information. The police consequently arrested her too. However, in an interview with journalists, Rashidat denied any knowledge of the crime.
