Nigerian Movie Superstar Joke Silva Endorses Tinubu As President

Veteran actress Joke Silva has prayed for the success of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima ahead of Saturday’s election.

In October 2022, the 61-year-old actress was appointed as a member of the women’s wing of Tinubu’s presidential campaign council, where she was entrusted with the leadership of the Creative and Entertainment Industry committee. Silva congratulated Tinubu and Shettima on their strong campaign and expressed confidence in their victory in the upcoming election.

Photos from the colourful carnival-like presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Sureulere, Lagos were shared by veteran actress Joke Silva.

The rally marked the end of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign for the presidency and witnessed the former Lagos Governor ride in a double-decker bus from the Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja through Mushin to Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. The procession passed through Ikorodu Road, bursting out at Western Avenue, Surulere.

People from Lagos came out in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the candidate, shouting “Asiwaju” and “Jagaban”.

In her caption for the photos from the rally, Joke Silva wrote that it was the final presidential rally for the APC in Lagos and that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had put up a great fight.

She expressed hope that by God’s grace, the ticket would be his and Shettima’s. She also thanked her colleagues Kemskis and H.E Mrs Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, SA to the President on SDGs, for their contributions. The second and third photos in the post featured the two women mentioned.
