Femi Aina, the father of Oreoluwa Aina, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who tragically lost her life in a train and bus collision, is still grappling with the loss of his beloved daughter. Oreoluwa was just 28 years old when she passed away, and she had a bright future ahead of her.
In an interview, Femi Aina revealed that his daughter had been preparing to pursue a master’s degree in the United Kingdom (UK) after completing her service year. He also mentioned that she was a cherished member of the community, and her death has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew her.
The tragic incident occurred when a Lagos State Government staff bus collided with a train in the PWD area of Lagos. The cause of the accident has been attributed to the recklessness of the BRT bus driver, who ignored a warning signal given by Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) flag officers.
The accident resulted in the loss of eight lives, including that of Oreoluwa Aina, as well as several injuries. The incident has sparked outrage and concerns about the safety of public transportation in Lagos State.
28-year-old Oreoluwa was buried on Saturday at the Atan cemetery, Lagos.
