night guard dies osun state

June 12, 2015 – Osun State Unpaid Salaries: Security Guard From Modakeke Dies Of Heart Attack At Osun Auditor General’s Office

Civil servants in Osun state have started violent protest to get Governor Aregbesola to pay their salaries of over 7 months.

On Thursday, a civil servant from Modakeke simply identified as Tunde slumped and died at Osun State Government secretariat in Osogbo.

The night watchman attached to Osun Auditor General’s Office was said to have died because he didn’t have money to pay for his food and drugs.

Pensioners and civil servants in Osun state have been going through hell in the past 7 months.

Residents say cases of armed robbery and bag snatching has increased.

This is not too good. If this is the kind of change Governor Aregbesola promised the great people of Osun State, then he should step down with immediate effect.

  1. That is the kind of change APc promised Nigerians are in for more surprises
D only man working in apc is buhari

  2. Aregbesola!!!!!! All dis innocent blood will judge.why will civil servants work for 7months without bn paid?

  3. What is NUP doing to alleviate the suffering of their members? They should not only be collecting check off dues.

  4. What is actually wrong with our government and our system in Nigeria?. If you ask the Governor, he will give an excuse that Federal government has not remit state allocations. Even after paying the money to the state coffer the person incharge of disbursement will keep it in his private account in order to yield interest at the expense of impoverished Nigerians. I have never seen Goverment that is irresponsible like Nigeria government. They do not have any sympathy for common Nigerians. Most of them are so selfish and greedy. One of these Governors sent his daughter to become a Surgeon in one of the best school in UK using state money while some people are dying of hunger because they can’t get their salary for 7 good months. It seems we have been cursed. Any responsible government should have devise a new plan to prevent future occurrence of this situation. White people are not better than us, they only design a plan and follow it. Some people in government are hiding $20 billion of Nigeria money which can be used in emergency situation like this for their 3rd generation. This is really sad.

    • Jilo I agree with you. Everybody in Nigeria knows that is what they do. One government official will lodge the money in his/account for months to yield interest while workers are not paid thereby subjecting them to untold hardship. Even the pensioners are not paid and when they do get paid they will queue on line for hours and on top of that bribe is demanded from them. It is a sorry situation in Nigeria. As for the governors, apart from Fashola of Lagos, Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, and Chime of Enugu no other governor did jack in that country.

    • Jilo you are very correct. Not only government even ordinary business Nigerian does it. My driver has been with us for 20 years because he told me his formal madam refused to pay his salary for nearly a year. He said he suffered so since he started working for us he is very happy because he gets his salary and even with bonuses.

Our people are very selfish as you rightly said they use govt money and send their children to most expensive school in UK. I have seen them I used to doubt where on earth did their dad get this money?

Nigeria change from been selfish because it will hunt your generation.

  5. One bad issue with Nigerians is that many selfish madams and ogas are quick to employ but can never ever pay salary to their staff while them ogas are living like kings and queens. Shame to all those Nigerians ogas and madams who are quick to employ workers but failed to pay their salary. Sad nation in every aspects.

How do you exepct your staff to send children to school or eat or buy medicines. You selfish ogas and madams think only your own children deserve to live a happy educated life.

Please ogas and madams change and pay all you workers their salary so that your generation will be blessed.
