Dreaded Kidnappers Kill 4 Nigerian Police Officers In Kaduna Forest After Release Of Abducted Islamic Cleric Sheik Algarkawy

At 4 policemen lost their dear lives yesterday while attempting to arrest the kidnappers of a peace-loving Islamic Cleric Sheik Adam Algarkawy in Kaduna.

The cleric who was kidnapped on the 2nd of August at Rigasa in Kaduna regained freedom 4 days later after his family paid N10million ransom.

To bring his abductors to justice, IGP sent 13 Intelligence Response Unit operatives to the hideout of the kidnappers.

After succeeding in arresting two of the suspected kidnappers, several others who fled later set up an ambush against the 13 IRT operatives.

4 officers and 2 kidnappers lost their lives in the exchange of fire that happened in the ambush attack.

The bodies of the deceased officers have been deposited at St Gerald hospital in Kaduna.

A reinforcement team has been sent to demolish the hideout of the kidnappers.

The deceased officers are: Sergeant Emmanuel Istifanus from Jos, Mamman Abubakar from Kano, Odibo Benard from Delta state and Haruna Ibrahim from Yobe state.
