Other arrested drug traffickers include Made Okey, Nicholas Ogochukwu and Nnodebe.

Okoye Nnamdi said he took drug trafficking over his menial job in Doha, Qatar because of the money factor.

Read the suspects confessions below:

“I was frustrated. When you are frustrated, you can do anything. I took a risk, but I was not lucky. Life is about taking risk. It is either you win or you lose. I have worked and suffered as a labourer in Doha for two years and I was desperate to change my status. I don’t regret my action.” – Nnamdi Okoye

Okey Made, 54, a businessman, said he was a novice in drug trafficking, adding that he was tricked into the act by his friend.

“I buy and sell clothes. I lived in Spain for about a decade. I came back to Nigeria because of financial hardship. I loved to go back to Spain and I did not have enough money. This was how I found myself in drug trafficking.” – said 32-year-old Gladys, a mother of 3.

31-year-old Nicholas Ogochukwu said life had been hard for him since his father died when he was five. He said he accepted the offer to smuggle cocaine into Nigeria on an agreed fee of N1m.

“I used to sell clothes but I lost my goods in a fire incident. This was what led me into drug trafficking.

“I was given liquid cocaine inside body cream and they promised to pay me N500,000,” said 28-year-old Nwodo Chidiere

NDLEA Commander at the Ikeja airport, Hamza Umar said the suspects were arrested with 16.51kg of hard drugs.

  6. Really, something is terribly wrong with the orientation of these Igbo tribe, otherwise; how does one explain the level of desperation of a people who are bent on getting rich by any means even if the route is undignifying. Their drug cartels is so closely knitted they operate only as tribal gangs and their activities cut across West Africa and beyond. They will quickly draw comparism and equalisations with other tribes in an attempt to justify their disgraceful geneological behaviour. The former President of Senegal once said the Ecowas could be successful only without Nigeria. He made the statement in a summit of Ecowas foreign ministers in Dakar, apparently in response to the criminal activities of Igbo community in Senegal and across the West African sub-region. Just two weeks ago; three Igbo youth who were arrested in Aflao borders in Ghana over drug related offences; broke jail alonside their Ghanaian counterparts and made away with 4 AK-47 belonging to the Police. That is level of shame a single tribe can bring to their motherland, a tribe that refer criminality as “business”, without shame. The Igbos will rally moral supports for fellow Igbos caught in criminal activity and try to justify the offence, the reasons why they operate at a tribal level. They revel in tribal criminal equalisation to justify their criminal activities. Any surprise the Igbos never trust any other tribe breaking into their business ranks.??? They are so closely and criminally knitted as a tribe. These are the same people crying foul about marginalisations in the Nigerian socio political equations. How else do the rest of Nigeria trust them with the kind of aukward and selfish tribal inward-looking mentality. No wonder Igbo nation is in disarray and are literally in wilderness in their own land.

    • @ojuolape….then it is better to flush the igbos out of nigeria to avoid inflating nigeria, save your nigeria and throw away the igbos, so you get your better nigeria and better ECOWAS, IGBOs belongs to Central and not west africa…. ANU OFIA, your fellow Yoruba boys have all become gays and homos in Europe only to get a stupid paper. Yes, Igbos take risks, and thousands are billionaires through their risk, go kill yourself.
you can only talk, but if you talk much, you will be kidnapped and your ranssome can change life of someone…… OZU NWULU ANWU… better call a police now…EWU OFIA….. what will it take to replace what you and your white masters destroyed from 1967 – 1970 ?, still wasting strong no matter your hate and jealous, still multiplying despite those that didnt make it, yes, all of you will be put to shame, because Israel will never be forgotten, every IGBOMAN is a born soldier, so get ready, go kill yourself, otherwise better not cross that line.

  8. Is very sad when you get it all wrong making it in life. Never give hope, stick to the word of God, work hard and pray without season. God is always ready to grant your heart desires. Must you take to drugs to make it. To every other fellow out there this should serve as a leason.

  9. Is obvious times are hard for even we that work for the federal Government of Nigeria is hard on us as only the politicians and leaders go home with millions of nairas as salaries why the Police, Army,, Navy and Airforce go home with pinch every month.

My belove people, we only have to hope in God as he’s a great provider.
    Crime does not pay.

Stay away from crime i hope this will serve as a leason to other.

  10. If the government want this kind of acts to stop in Nigeria, they should provide good jobs for everyone. Imagine someone like me who uses money always, if I don’t have for a day and I see a good opportunity for me to get double of my income, don’t you think I will go for it?? I will! With one mind.

  11. I don’t blame any of’em cause none of them would have gone for that if they’d been provided with better things to do. I appreciate the guts of the guy from Qatar for I will do same if I’m in his shoes. They are just unfortunate to be caught.

  12. Are **** people the only ones suffering the effects of economic hardship in Nigeria? There is something definitely wrong with their orientation. They can’t work hard or get an education as others, only the get rich quick schemes.

  13. Is funny how this guys take crime as a legal business.
I humbly solicit with legal department to stop adjoinding cases and prosecute any defualter to serve as a detriment to others.

  14. cant you i**** do nothing else aside from drugs? you are killing people and destroying Nigeria name.

i f**king hate this **** people for this drug sale and kidnapping, trafficking and prostitution

    • It is totally immature, reckless and uncivilized to attribute illegal drugs dealings to a single tribe that are only part of over 180 million Nigerians. I wonder what reliable data you’ve got to back up your untelligible remark. If you can hate people of a whole tribe combined because of few lawless ones among them, then something is seriously wrong with your sense of jugement. Tribal hate, ethnic divide and intolerance is what is killing the nation’s advancement. Going by your much hatred for Igbo people, am sure if you happen to be a manager of a very big firm and someone from an igbo tribe approaches you for an employment its obvious you won’t grant him or her such job opportunity. And that is exactly what is killing Nigeria today. Our inward hatred for other tribes have completely blinded our view from seeing the unspeakable act of criminality committed by people of our own tribes. Back in month of february, three Nigerian Nationals from yoruba tribe ( Oladimeji Seun Ayeloton)(Rasaq Aderoju Raheem and Femi Alexander Mewase) were extradited from south africa to Mississippi in US and were convicted by a federal jury for there wide-ranging internet fraud scheme and theft of US government fund through access device fraud and were sentenced which the least is 25 years imprisonment. So my friend what will you say about this high profile criminal record created by people from a yoruba tribe that has gained the world attention about our conduct concerning internet fraud? Are you also aware that the latest and the most embarrassing internet fraud that took place in US more recently was committed by someone from a yoruba tribe? Animasaun and his accomplice Temitope were jailed for wire fraud involving $1 million in the US. Are this high profile theft committed by this individuals from a yoruba tribe not huge enough to tarnish the image of our country abroad? But far from it! It will never make me hate yoruba as a tribe. Many friends that made me who I am today are from yoruba tribe. They are good people. Am an igbo man. The same could also be said about other tribe as well. There are bad people in every tribes so also there are good people in every tribes. So let’s always fight the tendency to condemn other tribes because of the bad behaviour of few. Rather than condemning tribes, why not condemn the main architect of our problem-the Nigerian government-which has so far failed to create an enabling environment for people to survive? They don’t give you job yet they collect tax from you. You pay electricity bills you don’t use. Workers salaries are been kept in the banks for months by inhuman governors to yield interest for there selfish gain. Money meant for the entire Nation are been diverted to the Northern part of the country. Then what do you think will happen to other tribes that are been refused this financial aid? They will want to lay there hands on whatever they can find to survive. So let’s always ascribe 90 percent blame to the government for the mess our youths regardless of tribes are involving themselves in abroad and let’s stop singling out tribe for condemnation.

  15. How will someone survive with 18000 minimum wage ,so thats why people resort to this kind of things ,the government should do more for the youth.
