May 18, 2016 – Pictures: Nok Culture Terracota Artifact Stolen From Nigeria Returned By France
A rare Nok culture artifact stolen from Nigeria several years ago has been returned.
The Nok Terracotta artifact was intercepted in France while it was being taken to the US from Togo back in 2008.
France Ambassador to Nigeria, Gauer presented the artifact to Culture & Information Minister, Lai Mohammed today as Nigeria marks 2016 International Museum Day in Abuja.
In 2012, US returned about 6 of the stolen artifacts to Nigeria
The Nok culture appeared in Nigeria around 1000 B.C. and later vanished under unknown circumstances around 500 AD.
It is widely believed that the colonial masters took the artifacts from Nigeria.
So how does that end the proposed strike resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy resulting to a high increment of petrol price?
I take a stroll…
thank you
Thank God that in some tiny measure someone has decided to do the right thing.
