Spiritual Deer Shoots Nigerian Pastor Dead During Hunting Trip At Oba Ile Akure Ondo State

It appears that the story of the middle-aged Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Idahun, Oba-Ile, Akure, Pastor George Olusanya Omoolorun, has some unanswered questions.

The pastor was known to hunt wild animals until he met his untimely death during a hunting expedition last Sunday at Apeju Street, Oba-Ile, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State.

The report states that the pastor shot a deer and his gun backfired, killing him instantly. The deceased, who was from Ijan-Ekiti, had reportedly been in the hunting business for 26 years.

The man in question, a father of four at the age of 60, reportedly left his residence for his farm along the Airport Road in Akure, where he would typically go to hunt for wild game using his car. After parking his car at the entrance of the farm, he embarked on the hunting trip. However, according to an anonymous family source, when his wife noticed that he had not returned home as expected, she became concerned and tried to call him, but there was no answer on his phone.

Here is what a witness said about the sad incident:

“After the pastor did not return home from his farm, his worried wife called his sister and some neighbors who set out to search for him. Upon arriving at the farm, they found him lying on the ground with a gunshot wound and a deer standing nearby. The deer was caught while attempting to flee and was found to have Ifa inscriptions. They brought the deer to the Oba Ile Police Station, but it later died there.”

The report has been confirmed by police sources at Oba-Ile police Division.

However, all efforts to get comments from the deceased’s wife and family proved unsuccessful as they were still in shock over the loss of their breadwinner.

The late pastor’s funeral has been scheduled to hold today at his country home in Ijan-Ekiti, while a Christian wake was held yesterday at his residence in Oba-Ile.
