Steve Harvey & Oprah Winfrey Reject Hosting Oscars; Whoopi Goldberg Volunteers As Kevin Hart Bows Out

Since Kevin Hart dropped out from hosting the Oscars, there had been a lot of speculation on who could be the next person to  host the event.

One celebrity that is not willing to accept the offer is Oprah Winfrey.

The media mogul was recently caught up with in New York while entering a hotel and asked if she’d open to hosting the Oscars, the legend said no.

Similarly , talk show host Steve Harvey revealed that he will not be accepting the job if the Academy asked him because they will dig up his past mistakes.

Here is what Harvey told ET.

“Oh no, I can’t host the Oscars,” he insisted. “Hell, if they won’t let Kevin Hart host the Oscars, how the hell are they going to let me host the Oscars?”

“I don’t want to host the Oscars because I don’t want them digging up my past,” he joked.

Hollywood actress and TV show host Whoopi Goldberg has volunteered to host the show.

Goldberg who made it known she can do the job on the View on Tuesday said she may not be everyone’s first pick.

“I realize I may not be anybody’s first choice. “Half of the country is sometimes really mad at me, the other half is okay, until tomorrow and they’re pissed.”

The talk of finding a replacement for Kevin Hart has been a tough discussion. It’s been said that the Academy is having a hard time because of a low budget, and not many celebrities may be up for the job.
