Air conditioners Fail at the Murtala international Airport in Lagos

Oct 16,2011 – For almost a week, the air conditioning units at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos have been out of commission.
The units, which were bought in 2010 by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) management, stopped working last Saturday.
The situation has led to great discomfort for people using the airport and travellers, with many of them staying outside the terminal building while waiting for their flights to be called.
The General Manager of Public Affairs of FAAN, Mr. Akin Olukunle said the situation was temporary and would be rectified before the weekend.
Several passengers lamented the situation, describing it as unbearable and unbecoming of an international airport.
