Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) chairman -elect, Hon. Kayode Omiyale has received his Certificate of Return from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC).

Omiyale was declared the winner after the council election on Saturday.

Before receiving the certificate from the LASIEC chairman, Justice Ayotunde Phillips, he pledged to ensure that that his people enjoy the dividend of democracy at the grassroots level.

He acknowledged the contributions of the leaders of Lagos Mainland, Member House of representatives, Hon Olajide Jimoh and other stakeholders for the confidence reposed on him.

Meanwhile, the self acclaimed winner of the Yaba local council election, Comrade Wale Balogun stormed LASIEC office with his followers to claimed the certificate of return as the authentic winner, but the security agents thrown him out to the venue.

While interrogating him by the security team, he said the people of Yaba voted for him as the authentic chairman of the council.

After receiving the certificate, the chairman elect made his commitment to the people of Yaba LCDA, saying that all steps would be taken to harness the the council’s potential for development and peace of the people.

“Yaba LCDA residents have voted for me as the chairman, we have set to provide leadership that will take us to the next level of greatness. All the potential of this council would be harness and the good legacy of our leaders will be follow through the help of God “, he said
