Aliko Dangote, the current richest man in Africa gave out scholarships to eight college students during his recent visit to Agbor town in Delta State.

Jim Ovia who is the founder of Visafone and Zenibank built the school over 5 years ago in his hometown.

He thanked Aliko Dangote for his generosity and support

“James Hope College is not a school for the rich, but a full school that could give opportunities to those who do not have the resources to afford quality education. They would be allowed to enjoy some scholarship programmes. This means that a little boy, or girl from a less-privileged home can join those who have the resources in a high standard education in James Hope College.

The pupils will be given scholarships to study in the school, if they are brilliant. At least, about 35 per cent of the students will have one form of scholarship or the other; it’s either full scholarship, or partial scholarship,” – said Jim Ovia

These wealthy people understand the principle of giving.. no wonder they are getting richer.

Thank you very much Mr. Dangote. May the almighty Creator continue to shower you with enormous successes, great health and long life. Please begin to educate the minds of well to do Nigerian citizens about humanity. Have a symposium nationally with the rich like you and organize them on how to care for orphans and emerging youth inventors. Forget about the hopeless government funds looters. Take the bull by the horns and the rest will follow. You are the greatest. Please, no scholarship to the rich children. That will tarnish your good image. Avoid helping politician kids, just the poor with huge potentials.
