Eniola The Street Hawker Is A Man, Why He Became A Crossdresser – Mother Breaks Silence
Kafayat Adeleke, a 40-year-old mother, has shared the unexpected story of her son, Sultan Adeleke, known as Eniola, who transformed himself into a lady due to his unique physical condition from birth. Eniola’s journey to self-reinvention began as a way to cope with the challenges and surprises his deformity brought since his infancy.
Recently, Eniola, while hawking bottled water on the busy streets of Lagos, caught the attention of Chukwuebuka Emmanuel, also known as Brain Jotter, a skit maker and comedian. Brain Jotter, touched by Eniola’s determination to succeed despite his physical challenges, generously gifted him N400,000 and encouraged people to support Eniola’s side business as a make-up artist.
This act of kindness gained widespread attention when famous singer Davido tagged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, urging support for Eniola, mistakenly thinking he was a girl. This incident sparked controversy as many online users revealed that the ‘female hawker’ was actually a male, disguising himself to attract public sympathy.
In an enlightening interview with social media enthusiast, Mr LilGaga, Kafayat Adeleke clarified her son’s situation. She explained that Sultan had been disguising himself as a girl named Eniola since 2018 in Osogbo. Despite being discouraged from this act, he eventually left home and continued his disguise in Lagos.
Kafayat debunked rumors that she wanted to use Sultan for rituals, expressing her deep love and preference for him over her other children due to his condition. She stated that Sultan’s situation drew sympathy and love from people towards both of them.
According to her, Sultan had been actively involved in make-up businesses in Osogbo, a skill he learned and practiced with a passion. However, he grew resentful of his mother’s protective nature and eventually decided to leave for Lagos.
Kafayat revealed that she had never financially exploited her son. It was only after his story gained public attention, resulting in monetary and other forms of support, that she had asked him for financial assistance.
She also provided pictures showcasing Eniola’s deformity from birth and his birth certificate, confirming his date of birth as September 23, 2005, to validate her claims.
Eniola himself, during an Instagram Live session, admitted to being a boy. He explained his choice to dress as a girl was a strategy to garner public support, as he felt neglected and overlooked due to his condition. His story, a blend of resilience and adaptation, highlights the lengths to which individuals might go to cope with societal challenges and personal adversities.
