Controversial Yoruwood actress Funke Adesiyan has joined the growing list of Nollywood stars who have already ventured into politics.
Funke Adesiyan who recently signaled her intention to run for Oyo State House Of Assembly (Ibadan S-E) under PDP platform is not backing down.
In a recent chat with Industry Magazine, Funke said she is doing so for the good of women.
In her own words:
“Most of the time, you hear people talk about what they would have done differently if they are involved in decision making about their community and nation and you wonder why they won’t get involved in politics. If you are not part of decision making, then you live by the law others make for you either you like or . Charity begins at home, it’s best to effect changes in my immediate environment first. My people love me, my women love me and my youths are in support of me. When you have God and your people, the sky is the beginning. There is no dream that is too tall. If you can dream it you can achieve it. I have signaled my intention to run for seat of house of assembly and we are very confident. I’m contesting under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party”,(PDP)
Funke Adesiyan is the 2nd Nollywood lady to venture into politics this year, Kate Henshaw is also running for House Of Assembly in Calabar.

all this ladies that does not even have a home now they want to be part of the decision makers of our dear country,its so sad because most of them dont have the financial means to maintain their expensive lifestyle and they think the next thing is to go into politics and have their own share of national cake,may God save our country, where the love for money supersedes
everything,everybody wants to be rich at all cost.this funke adesiyan that lives with a london based fraudster around magodo and when the relationship crashed she moved out and get herself a flat around ajah that she couldnt even pay the estate agent now suddenly going into politics to do what to raise money obviously,also Desmond Elliot suddenly became a yoruba man because he want to contest for a seat in lagos state,my people wont stop to amaze me
