LAWMA Set To Create 200 Jobs in Lagos
Oct 6, 2011 – The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), on Wednesday, said about 200 job opportunities would soon be created by the Authority in the state.
Ola Oresanya, the Managing Director of LAWMA, said that due to continuous increase in the population of the state, there was need for more human and material resources to cater for the waste being generated.
He said the new ‘Transfer Loading Station (TLS)’ is one of the places that job creation would be made available.
“Job creation is a continuous thing at LAWMA,” he said. “From the transfer station and medical waste plants that are now open, we are going to create about 200 jobs in the next few weeks. Generally, all our projects and programmes are targeted towards job creation. We are daily bringing out initiatives to engage people, especially at the community level.”
He said LAWMA would also create jobs at the community level from its Community Clean-up Campaign which would also assist in creating non-skilled jobs for the people. Daily Times
