Nigeria To 5500 Citizens In Sudan “Stay Indoor, Evacuation Is Starting Soon”

The Nigerian government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed plans to evacuate thousands of Nigerian citizens stranded in Sudan due to the ongoing conflict in the country. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, a total of 5,500 Nigerians are ready for evacuation, and the government has been given a cost estimate and other necessary details.

However, transporting these citizens from Sudan would be challenging as the airports are currently out of commission, leaving road transportation as the only viable option. The minister stated that providing security and a safe corridor for the citizens to move out would be necessary due to the ongoing conflict. He also pointed out that other countries such as the US and European countries have started evacuating their citizens from Sudan, but Nigeria faces a particularly challenging situation due to the large numbers involved.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Embassy in Khartoum has advised its citizens, particularly students, to remain indoors and avoid traveling towards Sudan’s borders without security clearance and assurance from Sudanese authorities. Reports suggest that at least 4,000 Nigerian students are among those stranded in Sudan due to the ongoing crisis, and they have been facing a scarcity of basic amenities such as water, food, and electricity since the crisis broke out.

The Nigerian government’s move to evacuate its citizens from Sudan has been welcomed by many Nigerians who have expressed concern over the plight of their fellow citizens in the country. The government’s efforts to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad is commendable and should be sustained. It is hoped that the evacuation process will be carried out swiftly and efficiently to ensure the safety and well-being of all Nigerians stranded in Sudan.

Nigerian government: Very useless. You should have taken care of it since the first days of the CONFLICT. But, as usual, always busy with POLITICS.
I don’t know when you guys will be rescued but, it will not be tomorrow. So as the Gov. said: STAY INDOOR..
