As e reach house, him wife Funke see am, she say, “Bayo, thank God say you no get serious injury, it is just headache caused by the accident. This small scratch on the car no need hospital visit. Make we go mechanic shop to do some patch up at least you have the insurance details of the man who scratched your car. I won’t encourage you to visit hospital, you know say COVID still dey waka up and down for hospital.”

But Bayo get another plan. Him mind dey on how him go use the accident claim insurance. He believe say if he get official hospital report, e go fit claim better money from the insurance company. Funke warn am say the risk too high. She say, “Bayo, this COVID matter no be joke o. You no need go hospital for this kind thing. Abeg listen to me.”

But greed don blind Bayo eye. Him no gree hear word. “Funke, you no understand. If I get hospital report, the insurance go pay big money. We fit use am take fix many things for house. No worry, I go dey careful,” he insist.

The next day, Bayo carry himself go hospital. As him reach there, e dey crowded with people wey get different sickness. He wait for long time before dem fit see am. As she dey mourn her husband, she think about all the times she warn am, all the times she beg am to avoid hospital. The insurance money wey him dey chase, no fit bring him back. The lesson wey she learn na say sometimes, e good to listen to the voice of reason and avoid unnecessary risk.

This story get big lesson for all of us. Greed na bad thing. Sometimes, we dey too focus on money and forget say health and life dey more important. Bayo for don listen to him wife, for don avoid that hospital, and him for still dey alive today.

Wisdom dey tell us say, “No be all road wey shine be gold.” Sometimes, the shortcut wey we dey look for fit lead us enter wahala. Patience and contentment na key to long life and peace of mind.
