July 23, 2014 – Nigerian Wrestlers Arrive Glasgow Scotland For 2014 Commonwealth Games

Naija wrestling stars on Monday arrived Glasgow Scotland to participate in the 2014 Commonwealth games that started on Tuesday.

The team of 7 officials and 14 wrestlers who were on a training tour in Romania for over 7 days arrived Scotland decked in Italian suits and hats with the female wrestlers carrying designer handbags.

The outfit which was courtesy of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) President, Hon Daniel Igali, had generated a lot of buzz from other commonwealth countries, participating in the games.

Full of admiration for the classy attire of the Nigeria wrestling team, Commonwealth wrestling Association Chairman, Josip Mrkoci took to his Facebook page and Instagram to commend the wrestlers and welcome them to Glasgow for the games.

The Director of the team, damian Ohaike said:

“You can see the attire the athletes are putting on, hardly can one recognize that they are wrestlers.

“The colour of their suits is peculiar to wrestling and all these are courtesy of the president, Daniel Igali. He knew what he passed through and now he is trying to make the wrestlers happy.”

Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson, a former wrestler has arrived Glasgow to motivate the wrestlers.

The athletes will hit the mat on the 29th of July, 2014.
