May 14, 2016 – Onitsha Anambra State Named World’s Most Polluted City By WHO, Aba, Kaduna & Umahia Also Feature On Top 20 Most Polluted Cities In The World

Anambra State Governor Obiano is not a happy man at the moment days after WHO (World Health Organisation) named Onitsha the most polluted city in the world.

According to a live report published by the WEF (World Economic Forum), Onitsha currently produces 30 times of the air pollution recommended by the WHO, a negative development that earned her the unenviable rating.

Other Nigerian cities on the list of top 20 most polluted cities in the world include Umuahia and Aba in Abia State and Kaduna city.

  1. Is it the dirtiest or most poluted? Well in either case I don’t believe the data.Umuahia is not an industrialized city and it’s among enviable state capital. So where is the polution coming from? Even Riyadh in Saudi? No I don’t believe this.

  2. If they mean dirtiest city, I may not dispute that, even though Aba of Abia State knows the title belongs to her. Polution has different forms. As far as air polution is concerned, Nigeria and Africa in general have the cleanest air. Despite the impact of gas flaring, the country is still far below the limit recommended for emmision of greenhouse gases. Talk about Japan, South Korea and other highly industrialized countries when you want to tell us about air polution.

  3. This might not be all dat true..
There z a city in china dat needs d combination of 3times onitsha..
They always like calling nigeria name in a negative aspect..
Rubbish… WHO or whatever u failed dis time around…nothing z perfect.

  4. The areas are over populated with different kind of people because of business. So why can’t it be the most polluted?
