March 25, 2017 – Photo News: Meet Mama Ibrahim, 90-Year-Old Nigerian Grandmother Working As Fisherwoman In Giri Abuja
Meet Mama Ibrahim, a native of Gbagyi in Abuja.
The grandmother who claimed to be 90 years old makes her ends meet by retrieving fishes and crabs from a swamp in Giri, a farming area along Nnamdi Azikwe Int’l Airport in Abuja.
The Nonagenarian is usually joined by her son’s wife, Mrs Ibrahim and her grandson, Musa who dropped out of primary school due to lack of money.
Mama Ibrahim and her family survive by trekking 2kms each day to fetch firewood for sale when they are not scavenging for fish.
The nonagenarian can’t speak any other language except Hausa and Gbagyi.
