May 15, 2017 – Pictures: Family Members Of Police Officers Murdered By Militants In Ishawo Area Of Ikorodu Get N10Million Each From Lagos State Government

Lagos State Government under the leadership of governor Akinwunmi Ambode has compensated the family members of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in Ikorodu Lagos recently.

The relations of policemen killed in an ambush attack by militants in Ishawo area of Ikorodu today received 10 million Naira each from Governor Ambode while family members of a soldier injured during the attack, Sergeant Alexandra Ugadu got N5million from the state government.

The family of the slain policemen identified as Inspector Godwin Iroagbalahi, Sergeant Mamuda Dembo, Sergeant  Idor Ekoro and Inspector Francis Pemi and Captain A Mohammed benefited from the death insurance scheme of the State Government.

  1. Half bread is better than none. The money cannot replace the life of slain officers but this is an encouragement for the newly hired officers that, there is a monetary compensation for their family if they eventually die , meaning, they are not going to die in vain. Thank you Mr. Governor for putting this kind of plan into effect unlike before when our officers never compensated whenever they lay their life down to protect their nation.
