Only a few days after the inauguration of Nigeria’s new President,Muhammadu Buhari which was attended by the British Foreign Secretary to mark United Kingdom’s renewed desire to boost the UK-Nigeria relationship, a new British High Commission building project has commenced in Abuja.

The building has been under construction for almost 18 months now, and will not be ready until this time next year, but it was a happy coincidence that UK could mark the moment of this relationship renewal with such a tangible statement of intent symbolised by the new building.

One of the FCO’s most senior officials, Chief Operating Officer Deb Bronnert arrived Nigeria last week for the occasion; the Foreign Secretary having visited the building only a couple of weeks earlier.
