“Please Come Home, Invest & Fight For Nigeria” – Politicians Tell US Based Nigerians
Murray, Obi
Feb 5, 2018 – “Come Home, Invest & Fight For Nigeria To Be Better” – Politicians Tell US Based Nigerians
Citizens of Nigeria working hard in the United States of America have been urged to change their negative mindset about Nigeria and return home to build the Nigeria of their dream.
Ex-Governor Peter Obi and others made this call while motivating others at the just concluded Nigerian-American Business Forum in Florida.
Others who spoke on: ‘Investing in Nigeria from the Diaspora: Challenges and Opportunities’, were the Nigerian Stock Exchange Council President Abimbola Ogunbanjo and Nigerian-American entrepreneur Biodun Shobanjo.
They all challenged the diasporas to invest at home and help to build a better Nigeria of everybody’s dream.
Murray-Bruce, in his speech, said the diasporas could not sit idly by and watch the country run aground, adding “you must be willing to come home, invest and fight for Nigeria to be better.
“In the coming election, Nigeria must be better – no more business as usual. Nigerians in Diaspora constitute the largest foreign direct investment to Nigeria – 22 billion dollars – while NNPC contribute 30 billion dollars.
“So I am sponsoring a bill that you must be given the right to vote. Call your senators to support my bill. If Nigeria must be successful, you must be successful”.
Durotoye, on his part, said it was not too late for Nigeria to get it right, saying Nigeria could still be the most desirable country to live in the next seven years – 2025.
He challenged the diasporas to be like the Diaspora Jews and Indians who succeeded together and were able to go back to impact same on their respective countries.
Leadership coach and motivational speaker Fela Durotoye speaking at the Nigerian-American Investment Forum at Florida
“No nation in the world has been able to realise its potential without the involvement of its diasporas; Awolowo, Nkrumah, Kenyatta – were all diasporas. Don’t be escapist. As long as you want to escape, Nigeria is a ‘hole’ to you.
“Be an expertise, think of what to bring back home. Invest in each other, start investing in Nigerians who are here.
“So invest in young Nigerians at home; they are moving forward in spite of government. Search them out and mentor them.
“Nigeria was born with a wing but just put in a cage in the past 57 years but the cage is about to be broken,” Durotoye said.
Speaking in a similar vein, Biodun Shobanjo said there was absolutely no reason why the diasporas should not come and invest at home, saying the opportunities in Nigeria are vast.
“I’m imploring you, please come home and invest. The more people like you come and invest, the GDP – Gross Domestic Product – will grow and we will make Nigeria a better place,” Shobanjo said.

So who put Nigeria in the cage? As far as am concerned, unless those who put Nigeria in the cage and those ensuring she stays in the cage are not dealt with and the country is restructured, Nigeria’s wilderness journey might just be beginning. No country can move forward the way this country is being run.

FOR NIGERIA To move forward, simply do the needful. Vote out buhari come 2019 and all his cohorts.
I strongly believe that the renewed falani herdsmen genocide across the country is tied to buhari being in office of authority and power.
So with buhari gone, herdsmen issue will become a biscuit problem. Buhari was voted to fix and address some major prolems facing the country unfortunately, he came and exacerbated it the more.

******Chasing out Buhari out of power is not the solution. Weren’t other people before him and even during his administration that want no good for the country?.8*****y.
Far as I am concerned, if they want me to come home and invest, fix the electricity, ban generators import. Put in prison anymore impeding funds. Electricity MUST be standard and standby 24/7. Fix security. There must be SECURITY GUARANTEE. Anyone, even politicians involved in ritual by kidnapping or killing people or for ransom must face jail or be killed. NO IMMUNITY for anyone regardless of status. In another word, UPHOLD the LAW OF THE LAND

For Nigerians in the Dispora to be moved to invest in Nigeria the Federal Government must reform Nigeria Financial System in line with what you find in the advanced nations in the western hemisphere.
Our Financial System contributed about 50% for the Nigerian Economic Recession and if the Total Financial Reforms did not take place urgent Nigeria will have a double dip economic recession.
Our Financial System has been the greatest obstacle militating against the economy under APC which APC did not create the present financial system. The Financial system has created problems for the APC in the management of the Nigerian economy.
Now it is time to overhaul the Nigerian Financial system inline with international standards so that Nigerians can fix Nigeria with 21st intrastructures.

Since their invation of onslaught on innocent Nigerians in Nigeria
What tangible measure has been put in place to curb the menace and how many arrest has so far been made in connection to any of the attacks on lives and destruction of properties worth billions of naira?
You want them ( Nigerians in diaspora) to come and jeopadize their lives here and live at the mercy of some dirty smelling hagard looking illiterate but extemely wicked creatures from the underworld called fulani herdsmen.

The five percenters are being prosecuted for not voting the current wayo govt, ooperation python genoicide was even launched on them.big time investor innoson group boss who assembles car from scratch to finish was molested and whisked away by useless efcc.such company employed massively across the regions irrespective of tribes.globacom is being hunted by efcc while foreign rip off mtn reigns supreme.no sane person will invest in a hostile environment.not until this dubious govt leaves power nest year

Remember to
1. Bring your electric generators when you are coming, make deductions for fuel and see if leftover income is worth your investment.
2. Plan your security against kidnapping of yourself and other family members.
3. Plan your security against intentional killings by herdsmen, cultists, armed robbers and men of the Nigeria security agencies, especially the police.
Expecting you.

Those (white men) who came 2 invest in NIG. esp. south-south. Wat was their reward? Isn’t it kidnapping and killing. So, I don’t blame dem if dey stay back home. Insecurity & power failure ar d major problem of ds country.

Who wants to waste their life savings and investment in a country where nothing works? To get a document out from even the court, you have to bribe someone. The electricity situation is disgraceful, roads are death traps. What really gave me great concern last December was how does one survive if serious medical treatment is needed urgently in Nigeria? Do you know how many lives have been lost needlessly, especially women giving birth, accident victims and premature babies? Human lives mean nothing in Nigeria. In America, we have animal hospitals open 24 hours if your pets need emergency treatment during the night hours or surgery. My daughter’s dog had surgery due to spinal injury last year, had sonogram and x-ray to assess the damage. Ordinary dog! Every life God created is precious, except in our own country. Nigerian leaders know the shithole medical facilities we have, hence, they travel overseas for medical care and check up. I value my life and my loved ones to risk settling down in Nigeria. Never again. God have mercy on us
