Sept 26, 2012 – The Reward Of Honesty: Airport Taxi Driver Gets N2.5 Million

A taxi driver has been awarded with an integrity award plaque and N2.5 million cash for being so honest. naijagists.com

Imeh Usuah and his wife did what others wouldn’t normally do by returning a forgotten N18 million cash in his taxi cab back in 2007 by a customer.

The former worker at Julius Berger Plc got his Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) maiden Integrity Award at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on Tuesday.

He hails from Ubokudom in Akwa Ibom state.

If you were to be a taxi cab driver, what would you do if someone forgets that huge amount of cash in your cab?

NOT EVERYBODY HAS SOLD HIS/HER BIRTHRIGHT FOR MONEY. ITS A GOOD THING WE STILL HAVE SOMEONE LIKE HIM AND I ENCOURAGE OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE TO IMITATE HIS GOOD ATTRIBUTES.

If I know and can trace the owner I will return it, but if it is to leave it in the hand of Nigerian police to find the owner? To be honest I will not. I rather give it to church or orphanage.

God bless him and his wife. Some women would not allow their husbands to return the money, God bless you lady.

That’s encouraging he deserves the reward. Hopefully other Nigerians will emulate such good moral behavior/

Whether there’s a reward or not, stealing another man’s property is a sin. And all sinners has no place in God’s kingdom. The greater reward is when you die, that’s when eternity begins… So for a man to be this honest, despite the tropical weather plus economic suffering of this nation, he must have thought about where he would spend his ETERNITY after death. That’s the most important thing.. The soul will surely leave this body that we cloth, bath, feed and paint, to face eternity either in Jehovah’s joyful city, or in the lake of fire and sulphur…
