Sept 12, 2011 – Wife Killer, Akolade Arowolo @ LUTH After Attempted Suicide
Mr Arowolo who had previously been charged with killing his Banker’s wife, Titilayo Arowolo is now at the intensive care unit of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) undergoing medical treatment for complications caused by his attempted suicide.
In accordance with Punch news, Akolade was believed to have drank a solution rich in acidic content(poison) and had to get a surgery due to the fact his belly can no longer hold food.
Nonetheless, the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) by means of its Lagos Command PR Officer, Chuks Njoku, has declined the report that Akolade tried to take his own life by drinking acidic liquid since it was extremely hard for a prisoner to get access to this kind of chemical.
“The way the prison is run, I tell you that it is impossible for an inmate to get his hands on any harmful substance. The person in question (Akolade) is quite ill.
We always search inmates prior to entering or leaving the prison so there is no way he could have taken a toxic substance. It’s just an allergic reaction. He simply took something that he is reacting to. I was with Akolade a few days ago and the man is responding to treatment,” he stated.
Naijan.com hope, Titilayo’s death is not going to be enlisted on the log book of unresolved murder cases in the history of Nigeria’s failed justice system.
