President Jonathan Invests N200 Billion On Nollywood Movie Stars, Producers Want More
June 2nd, 2014 – President Jonathan Invests N200 Billion On Nollywood Movie Stars, Producers Want More
The president of AMP (Association of Movie Producers) disclosed today that the N200 billion President Jonathan invested on Nollywood movie producers had boosted the quality of movie production in Nigeria.
Zik Zulu made this known in an exclusive interview with NAN in Abuja.
He said the fund was enhancing the capacity of the various stakeholders in movie production.
“Directors have already gone for training. About 28 of them have been to America for training and they are back. Producers are planning to go now, actors will also go.
“But the film fund is for film-making while the trainings are for capacity building; that is what the directors went for and producers are trying to go now.
“But the one for film production which is about N10 billion, we are going through the process, and those that will eventually qualify will get the grant.”
He said the University of Colorado in America had admitted the film directors who were trained in modern technique in film directing.
The president said the final process of admitting the next batch of Nigerian movie producers at the University of California and Georgia State University was on.
However, he expressed worry over the stringent measures attached to the fund pointing out that many stakeholders might not be able to fulfil the procedures for receiving the grant.
“The process of getting the grant is quite tedious, complex, and intricate and so complicated, and is difficult for some people to get it done.
“I think they should also try to make it less complicated. We want them to increase the grant, sustain it and make it less cumbersome to access,” he said.
“I commend President Jonathan for making the grant available, and add that they should sustain the grant because Nollywood has blossomed through individual efforts.
“The government should also put more money into some aspects of film production,” he said. [NAN]

This is total madness and a waste of taxpayer’s and Nigerian oil money. I can’t imagine what become of Nigeria if this madness continues beyond year 2015. This president had borrowed money from many nations like Brazil, China, Japan just to mention a few that are not as rich as Nigeria to finance his corrupt practices. The biggest movie industry in the world is Hollywood in the United States. However, Hollywood pays billions of dollars in taxes annually to boost American economy but doesn’t take from American taxpayers. But in Nigeria where madness of all kinds reign, president Badluck Jonathan spent over N200 billion on Nollywood to boost the quality of movie production in Nigeria. How does that sounds like great Nigerian people? At the expense of suffering Nigerian people, movie producers are now spending people’s money for training in the U.S and beyond. This is the most ridiculous investment ever in a nation where unemployment rate among our youths is at alarming rate; where our physical infrastructure such as roads, railway tracks, bridges are all in terrible shapes; where our educational system is in shambles; where our law enforcement officers and the military are not well funded to provide adequate security for Nigerian citizens; where ordinary Nigerians live less than a dollar per day; and in a nation where citizen’s safety is no longer guarantee. Dumb president does dumb things and the Holy Bible confirmed this. In the book of Proverb, it’s states, “Where there is no vision, the people perish. ” It’s clear now that this do-nothing president will end up as the worst president in Nigerian history at the end of his second term in 2015. How can any reasonable administration spend over N200 billion on movie production in a nation like ours? This is shameful, unpatriotic and a leadership failures.
Is still a misery how this dumb, incompetent and unintelligent man end up being the president of Nigeria. President Badluck Ebele Jonathan lacks the management skills, mental ability and the intelligent to govern a nation like Nigeria. So many precious Nigerian lives have been wasted on his watch as our unable president to Boko Haram terrorism , and one will think that president Badluck will invest billions of naira on national security and national rebuilding. But he invested billion of naira on movie production. In a true democracy, he would have tender his resignation letter to Nigerians for his failures as most incompetent president ever in our nation’s history. But this is Nigeria where anything goes as long as the mighty ones in our society are getting paid through corruption at the expense of the suffering masses.
President Badluck Jonathan is contesting only for a victory in the 2015 general election in Bayelsa state. How and Why? The good people of Bayelsa state may vote for him simply because he was born in that state and also for been the former corrupt governor of Bayelsa. But if the good people of Bayelsa state were to vote on his records as Nigerian president for the past five years, Badluck Jonathan will also lose Bayelsa state by a wide margin to the other presidential candidate come 2015. The good people of Ogun State from the south west rejected former president Olusegun Obasanjo in the 1999 general election. President Obasanjo lost in his hometown and state election to the opposition candidate in the 1999 general election because the people rejected him based on his past records of failures, corruption, and election manipulations. May God deliver our beloved nation from president Jonathan’s failures and madness. We need a new president in 2015 that will invest the people’s money on our falling education, poor and outdated infrastructures, health care, citizen’s safety, job creation, electricity, strong military to destroy Boko Haram terrorists, and invest in our children’s futures for better tomorrow.

Misplaced priority (if true). But all the same Nigerians deserve the kind of leader they get because the recipients should have been good followers by suggesting to him where the money is more needed… God bless Nigeria.
