Nov 29, 2014 – Slavery: Group Condemns Black Friday, Claims Slave Traders Sold Blacks A Day After Thanksgiving

A group has condemned Black Friday for its historical root in slavery.

Black Friday is a day after thanksgiving where American retailers and consumers connect.

Retailers offers products at discount prices while shoppers storm stores across the country looking for sales.

It has extended to Europe,  Britain and some parts of Africa.

Many Online retailers too have joined the move.

A group is condemning Black Friday for its connection to slavery.

The group says a day after Thanksgiving, slave traders would sell blacks for a discount to assist farmers with winter.

They mostly hire black slaves to cut and stack firewood and winter proofing materials.

“This was the day after Thanksgiving when slave traders would sell slaves for a discount to assist plantation owners with more helpers for the upcoming winter (for cutting and stacking fire wood, winter proofing etc.), hence the name”.

they suffered but still have no sense in 21st century. Both africans and african amerians. just look at african movie and music industries. Do you blame slave masters for being copied?. Arent blacks still overwhelming flood “black friday” put to money in their masters’ pockets?

The answer is in Quran. “God does not change condition of a people until people change what is in themselves”

Alhaja Hamudat, I’m quite sure you are devout hard core Muslim who tries to defend it so strongly. That ok but why did you rephrase your name to fit western style name? As a committed Muslim, even in social media, don’t you think you should keep it real? I think I’m guessing right.

It was a bad move, though today it is not an issue of finger pointing, but a matter of working together for a better tomorrow. We know for sure that slave trade was a bad movement and this is the reason why many people including the whites more especially those from England were not of the idea. They too advocated for a world free of slave trade.

So black Friday should not be encouraged at all cost.

Let me get this right… with zero evidence you ascribe a term first used in the 1960s to a practice that had been abolished 100 years earlier?

People do say the stupidest things. Have you wondered why no-one has any evidence for this that dates before a make-up picture, a “meme”, was circulated in 2014?
It is because this is a lie, fake news if you like. Proof that the internet really has made people more stupid and gullible as time goes by.
