Dec 9, 2013 – ASUU Strike: “President Jonathan Is Nigeria’s Mandela” – Doyin Okupe Tells AIT

Doyin Okupe, a political appointee in President Jonathan’s administration has come open to praise him during an interview he granted on African Independent Television few days ago.

On Friday December 6, 2013, hear what Doyin Okupe said about President Jonathan’s commitment to the ongoing ASUU strike.

doyin okupe

“Nelson Mandela was a great leader, he lived his life for the people of South Africa. I check through the history of Nigeria, among our past and present leaders, the only one we can call our Mandela here in Nigeria is President Jonathan. There is no any President in Nigeria that has sacrificed 13 hours to discuss with ASUU.”

Did I hear him compare President Jonathan to Mandela?

Can someone sense the political game here.

How can he make such comparison when Nigerian students have been home-bound for the past 6 months.

So because the oga at the top spent 13 hours with ASUU officials, that automatically qualifies him as the Mandela of Nigeria…. Doyin Okupe should wake up from his slumber abeg.

  1. There is a popular yoruba saying that a man does not call a cow an elder brother to satisfy his stomach. I do believe Doyin Okupe is married with children, it is time some family member tell him to shut up. He made a fool of himself under Obasanjo, when is he going to stop? Even a fool is presumed wise until he speaks.

  2. I tink dis man his craze and crazy how he talk and say d president gudluck his homosesual I tink jonatan likes woman his a foolish man with big stlupid belle his not sleeping with a man bUt I tink d woman is d one in dis picture and his ugly that is my talk Tenk you

  3. I tink diz gormless doyin okupe is tryng 2 mock GEJ so bcox he sat down discusng 4 13hrs is nw qualify 2 2b lik Mandela GEJ suld sack u 4 d mockery…poppycock talk

  4. Okupe its rather unfortunate that this is the nicest way you can publicly insult your boss Jonathan! How dare you deem yourself fit to talk on leadership qualities of MADIBA? Go search yourself and the boss (GEJ) you worship and stop embarrassing yourselves…You bunch of COWARDS!

  5. i rarely post comments here, however, am bent to make some salient point here: the first is that GEJ is not mandela and vise versa, both had different focus and vision abt life and governance. mandela played his prt at his prime, GEJ is facing the task of hs time now.
Secondly, we shld all be able to identify a political opporturnist-okopke been one- is only acting hs part as per that. But, i would have expected him to b more sane in his comparison. Okopke should desist from pitching nigerians against GEJ bcuz of his quest for cheap political relevance.

  6. Pls you guys should leave that poor president alone (jonathan) is not easy to be a leader dissipite everybody know him to be president OBJ is the one controlling him, he is just a representative there. It is not easy to satisfied the masses 100% .
