A very popular actress in the Nollywood Yoruba movie industry, Abiola Adebayo also called Eyin Oka has called it quit with her husband of less than two years, a London-based professional simply identified as Ola.
Though she was married in 2012 and we have photo evidence, the actress said she was never married and that she only got engaged wearing a white wedding gown.
In a recent chat with Daily Sun, Abiola said her relationship crumbled when she found out she has the same genotype as her hubby.
The couple’s fear of giving birth to a baby with Sickle Cell Anaemia disease is the major cause of the crash.
In her own words:
“He has been very good to me, just that things didn’t work out because you as a guy, you want to get married to a lady and you just found out that the 2 of you share the same genotype, in this modern day? We did engagement and people knew about it, so how do you expect me to tell them now that the relationship has crashed? I don’t want such stories and that was why I kept it to myself. Whatever that is not yours, you just have to let it go. I had engagement with him not a secret wedding, we only got engaged and it wasn’t elaborate.
There was nothing secret; all we wanted was something small; we didn’t want the celebrity kind of thing. I don’t just like people making unnecessary noise about me. I am not ready to say the exact thing that happened, but something similar to the example I earlier gave. We separated without fighting or quarrelling, we saw it and we tried to work things out but this couldn’t work out, we walked out of it quietly. We dated for two and half years and we got engaged three years ago”.

i dey tell you, there is something more, in this modern era wer ppl check their genotype before marriage, xcept d guy lied or something else happend. my uncle and his wife are both AS and they have three kids n none of them is ss, we wer all scared for him but faith and miracle still work and there are medical ways to correct it though is xpensive

I salute your courage to take this decision to quit due to the genotype issue. Actually you should have checked this out before you even embark on the relationship, but we are human beings and we all make mistakes.
I so much enjoyed your film, Omo Oloja. That was such a nice story with lots of lessons to pass across to both the young ones and adults. More grease to your elbow, Grace.
