July 17, 2014 – Chief Zebrudaya Returns To School: New Masquerade’s Chika Okpala Enrols Into NOUN University At Age 64

Popular Nigerian comedian Chief Okpala also called Zebrudaya of the New Masquerade series that was popular in the 80s has returned to school.

Among the 700 students that matriculated into the Enugu Campus of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Chief Okpala was included.

He just enrolled for his Masters Degree in Business Administration.

When asked why he chose to return to school at 64 years of age, hear what Okpala told reporters:

“The brain must continue working. I believe that age is no barrier to education. As long as you can live, as long as you can understand, as long as you can practicalise, you are qualified at anytime to go and read or better your education. Now, we are into ICT and ICT is a new dimension altogether. So, whether you like it or not, you must go back to school to learn it. If you don’t learn it, you cannot use ICT,” Okpala said.

Another journalist ask Okpala why he decided to study Business Administration, read his response

“This is entertainment, this is management. People have been managing me, so I now have to go and read management to manage myself.”

Brilliant decision!

Congratulations to you Chief Chika Okpala. I am honestly a strong believer that age is no barrier to education. The world has indeed gone digital and for one to follow suit accordingly, you have to get educated on the subject(s). And like you rightly said Chief Okpala, continuous reading keeps the mind and soul alive. Therefore though, this is a fantastic way to go. Bravo Chief.
