Funke Abisogun Is Dead: Nollywood Yoruba Actress Dies 4 Days After Giving Birth

Nollywood has lost another actress to childbirth complication.

Fast rising actress Funke Alhassan nee Abisogun has died. The mother of two reportedly gave up the ghost on Sunday evening days after she had complication following a botched c-section surgery.

A friend of her husband, film maker Tunde Ola Yusuf broke this sad news on Instagram yesterday the moment the actress gave up the ghost.

According to family sources, the actress was in labour for over 8 hours before incompetent doctors performed botched Cesarean section on her.

She reportedly lost lot of blood before giving up the ghost 4 days after the Cesarean section.

Her husband Taofiq Alhassan who announced that she had given birth 3 days ago is now mourning.

The actress was looking forward to the success of her new movie “Olowosile Part 2” when death snatched her from her family.

She is survived by her mother, 3 siblings, 2 children and her husband.

May her soul rest in peace.

With ill-equipped hospitals and improperly trained medical professionals, incidents like this are inevitable.
